How do I cash out from Contently to my PayPal account?

Modified on Tue, 28 Feb 2023 at 12:07 PM

Contently prides in ensuring our freelancers our paid immediately for their work. In this guide, we'll walk through the following:

  1. Cashing out from the platform

  2. Delays with cash outs

  3. Checking there was payment associated with your work

1. Cashing out from the platform

As soon as you claim a workflow step you can withdraw your payment. Click on the dollar amount in the top right corner of your dashboard to withdraw payment to PayPal.

Each time you cash out from Contently to your PayPal account, you will be asked for your:

  • PayPal email address

  • Contently password

This means that your PayPal email address is not associated with your Contently account; you are free to cash out to any PayPal account by inputting the correct email address.

2. Delays with cash outs

Typically, you will receive payment within 24 hours. Rarely, there are delays on either side but fear not! We can quickly resolve any hiccups.

If your payment has not arrived in your PayPal account within 4 business days, please email help@contently.com and include:

  • The story ID link (the URL of your assignment in the platform that you need to receive payment for)

  • Your PayPal email address

  • A screenshot of your account activity page (access this by clicking "Your account" on the top right drop down menu and then "Activity" on the lefthand sidebar.)

3. Checking there was payment attached to the story you worked on

There has to be a payment associated with your workflow step on a story for you to be paid when you submit your step. To check if there's payment attached to your step, go to the specific story and click on the workflow tab. You should see the "You earn" line on your workflow step.

Once you submit your work, the green check mark will appear, which signifies that the step is complete and you should have received your payment.

If you happen to notice there is no payment with your step before claiming the step, please reach out to the managing editor or client you are working with.

If you happen to notice this after submitting the step, you can still reach out to the managing editor or client to include the payment. Once they do so, you will automatically receive the payment.
