These instructions are intended for people who are responsible for pushing completed content from Contently to WordPress.

1. How to push content from Contently to WordPress

Once a piece of content goes through its entire workflow and is marked 'complete' in Contently, the "Push to CMS" button will appear at the top of the page. Click this button to push your piece of content to your CMS.

If you have more than one CMS tied to your account, this button will act as a drop down. Chose the integration you want to push to. You can push each piece of content to more than one CMS if you need to.

2. How to indicate which post template to use in WordPress

If you use post templates in WordPress—and if your team configured mappings for your different post templates in WordPress—you need to tell WordPress which post template to use each time you push a piece of content from Contently to WordPress.

You will need to create a custom field named "POST_TEMPLATE". Select the 'Standard' content type when you create this field. For information about how to create custom fields in Contently, visit this article.
Make sure to assign the new custom field to each story that will be pushed to WordPress.
Before you complete each piece of content in Contently, make sure to enter a post template name in the "POST_TEMPLATE" custom field in Contently. The name you enter in the field should match the name of your post template in WordPress.
When you push the piece of content from Contently to WordPress, WordPress will apply the appropriate mapping rules – and assign the correct post template – based on the post template name you entered into the "POST_TEMPLATE" custom field. If you do not fill out this field, WordPress will create your post using the Default Template and the mapping tied to the Default Template in WordPress.

Note: Example of the "POST_TEMPLATE" custom field on a story in Contently. When this story gets pushed to WordPress, WordPress will create the post using the post template named "New Template". You must have a mapping configured in WordPress for this post template.
